Then learning the Hindi language would give you the tools you need to get the most out of travel in India and open the doorway to studying in depth its cultural traditions. This unit does not presume any prior knowledge of Hindi and the emphasis is on developing everyday conversational skills and a clear understanding of the grammar of modern standard Hindi. This unit introduces both spoken Hindi and the Hindi script. The language elements covered include: meeting people; forms of greeting; describing things; shopping; occupations; train travel; families; and health issues.
